Recovery and Expectations

Achieving long-term recovery

When medications like Methadone and Buprenorphine are combined with counseling and other social support services, patients have a greater chance at long-term recovery. Through our holistic North Carolina heroin and opiate addiction recovery program, for all our patients, we aim to:

  • Improve both, mental and physical health
  • Improve social functioning, to enable the return to school or stable employment
  • Improve stability and overall quality of life
  • Reduce use of illegal substances and risk-taking behaviors
  • Reduce criminal activity and incarceration rates
  • Reduce the chance of relapse, overdose, and/or death

There are many different factors that contribute to a patient’s chances of success in one of our North Carolina heroin and opioid addiction recovery programs. These may include things like:

  • Length of time spent in treatment
  • Participation in a holistic, well-rounded program vs. one that only addresses one need: medical, social, or psychological
  • Access to longer-term medical maintenance, as opposed to short-term reliance on medication
  • Collaborative approach to tapering of medicine
  • Many other personal and situational factors

While there is never a guarantee of permanent recovery, it’s important to give yourself the best shot possible. Come to one of Aurora Health’s North Carolina heroin and opioid addiction recovery clinic and start your healing process today.
